Man devastated after wife killed in Cheras horror crash

KUALA LUMPUR: A 28-year-old man recalled the horror of seeing his wife’s mangled body after the motorcycle they were riding on collided with a sand truck near Taman Segar in Cheras.

Muhammad Hafiz Ab Rahman was sending his wife Noor Shah Ahmad, 34, to her workplace in Taman Shamelin when their motorcycle was forced to the right by a silver Mercedes Benz at 9.10am on Monday.

He said the motorcycle lost balance after the car inched closer to them. They crashed into the left rear tyre of the truck and fell underneath the moving vehicle.

“Everything happened so fast. The next thing I know, my wife was lying lifeless on the road; her body mangled,” said the devastated husband.

Muhammad Hafiz told reporters that the Mercedes Benz sped off after the collision.

“The driver panicked after he realised what had happened.

“He looked like he was in his 60s,” he added. Muhammad Hafiz escaped with minor injuries.

Muhammad Hafiz, who is a student in a Sri Petaling college, was determined to be strong for the couple’s only child.

“Our son, Muhammad Adam Mishary, is only six months old,” he said.

Noor Shah’s body was sent to the Hospital Kuala Lumpur for a post-mortem.

When contacted, city traffic police chief Asst Comm Mohd Nadzri Hussain said the case was being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act for reckless driving.
