TELUK INTAN: Dyana Sofya Mohd Daud (pic)has been named the DAP candidate for the Teluk Intan parliamentary by-election.
Dyana Sofya, 27, political-secretary to Gelang Patah MP Lim Kit Siang, was unveiled by party secretary-general Lim Guan Eng at the opening of the party's by-election operations centre here on Saturday.
Seated between Guan Eng and acting party chairman Tan Kok Wai, the Ipoh-born Dyana appeared calm and composed as she met with other Pakatan Rakyat leaders.
The Teluk Intan by-election was called following the death of incumbent Seah Leong Peng, 48, of cancer on May 1.
DAP’s Seah had won the Teluk Intan seat with a 7,313-vote majority in the 13th general election last year, beating Datuk Mah Siew Keong of the Barisan Nasional and K. Moralingam, an independent candidate.
Nomination is on May 19, while polling is on May 31.
