Bakti donates to 18 charity organisations


KUALA LUMPUR: Eighteen charity organisations received donations from the Welfare Association of Wives of Ministers and Deputy Ministers (Bakti) in conjunction with the Chinese New Year celebrations.

Bakti president Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor presented the 18 charities with RM90,000 at a special luncheon which was co-organised with YTL Corporation Bhd yesterday.

Some 500 orphans, senior citizens and disabled people were treated to an array of sumptuous food and performances including by the Permata Seni choir.

The children, who were dressed in their best, were excited and filled with joy when Rosmah, who is the Prime Minister’s wife and YTL Corporation Bhd’s Datuk Yeoh Soo Min, presented the children and other guests with red packets at the end of the event.

Other Bakti members included Datin Seri Lee Sun Loo, the wife of MCA president Datuk Seri Liow Tiong Lai, who also presented the guests with ang pow.
