Sri Melur Jaya is the best roti canai place in town

RESTORAN Sri Melur Jaya has been endorsed as the best roti canai joint in the Klang Valley in The Star People’s Food Awards.

The restaurant in SS19/6, Subang Jaya received 1,018 votes, beating 19 other entries to win the award via public nomination and voting.

The other Top 10 roti canai eateries were Mr Roti Canai (771 votes), Valentine Roti,(422 votes) and Restoran Sukha Authentic Banana Leaf Cuisine (47 votes).

In the list were also Sri Suria Curry House, Devi’s Corner, Raju Restaurant, Original Penang Kayu Nasi Kandar and Restoran Al Fariz Maju.

MOB readers who recommended/nominated, endorsed, and voted, or shared the link via social media, gained points which were automatically tallied by the system, and the top 10 scorers won attractive prizes.

The prizes included hotel stays and dining vouchers at Le Meridien Kuala Lumpur, Armada Petaling Jaya, Grand Millennium Kuala Lumpur and Sheraton Imperial Kuala Lumpur,.

The winners were Sobana Gopalakrishnan, Yasotha Verasingam, Maathuri Vedaretnam, Manno Shini, Ugunthan Gopalakrishnan, Jayanthi Kailasam, Vasanthi Kailasam, Bobby Chan Yew Fatt, Serine Liang and Chwong Heung.

The awards is a monthly contest that recognises the best street food in the Klang Valley. The first of each month during the awards period from June to May 2015 will see a new category being launched.
