ELECTRONICS and home appliance retail giant Senheng, recently announced that it has been selected as one of the authorised agents for the Government’s new “Youth Communication Package” programme.
Introduced in December, with the cooperation of the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC), the programme targets youths in hopes of increasing their use of smartphones and to encourage them to surf the Internet. The Government has allocated RM300mil for this programme to help benefit 1.5 million youths.
According to Senheng, customers will have to first register on MCMC’s portal in order to enjoy a one-off RM200 rebate for the purchase of a 3G smartphone priced below RM500.
The programme is from Jan 1 to Dec 31, 2013 and youths aged 21 to 30 who earn a monthly income of RM3,000 and below qualify for the rebate.
Senheng added that its customers who are PlusOne members, will receive an additional one-year warranty on their purchase.
