In Adelaide, we stood out as Malaysians at a dim sum restaurant called Bazoo due to the frenetic pace of ordering. Carts passing us by were swiftly examined and the tasty contents beckoned us over the din of chopsticks against porcelain ware. Our identity was unmistakably sealed when we sipped Chinese tea.
