Touted as “the perfect face and muse” for Bulgari’s Omnia Indian Garnet, Edita Vilkeviciute fronts the fragrance campaign.

The stunning Lithuanian model, who is 175cm tall, was in Jaipur, India for the launch. She proved to be a charmer, winning over media members with her friendliness and natural beauty.

'It’s very versatile, whether you want to smell feminine or strong and powerful,' says model Edita Vilkeviciute of the fragrance.

“India is a really magical place. I’ve always dreamed of coming here, but there’s never been enough time,” said Vilkeviciute, who arranged for her mother and sister to join her to explore the country.

Born on New Year’s Day, 1989 in Kaunas, Lithuania, she was discovered on the streets by a model scout at the age of 16.

“For me, modelling happened completely by accident,” she said. “I just knew I wanted to do something that involved action and interaction with people. And now, I’m the face for the most amazing perfume.

“Lithuania is a very small, simple country, filled with lots of nature. When I was growing up, I had no idea about fashion or modelling,” recalled Vilkeviciute, who described herself as a “positive person, energetic, soft and fun”.

“No one from my country was doing anything like this. Everything I learnt was during the process of my work. At that time, I didn’t even know who Kate Moss was!”

Although Vilkeviciute hasn’t reached Kate Moss’ status, not yet anyway, she is well on her way. Making her runway debut in 2006 for Just Cavalli in Milan, she is currently ranked at 14th by Models.com on its Top 50 Models Women list.

Vilkeviciute has graced the pages of many fashion magazines around the world, including covers for Marie Claire, Vogue Germany and Russia, Allure and i-D.

In mid 2013, she became the face of Bulgari Omnia Crystalline. Now, she continues her association with the brand for Indian Garnet.

“I love the new scent, I really relate to it,” cooed Vilkeviciute. “I know I’m going to wear it a lot. It’s very versatile, whether you want to smell feminine or strong and powerful.” — William K.C. Kee
