Singapore inflation edges up to -0.4% in May

SINGAPORE:  Singapore's consumer price index (CPI)-All Items inflation edged up to -0.4% in May, from -0.5% in April, on account of the higher cost of private road transport.

In a joint statement released by the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) and the Ministry of Trade and Industry (MTI) said, private road transport cost rose 1% due to higher Certificate of Entitlement (COE) premiums and a smaller correction in petrol pump prices compared to a year ago.
