Firefly asks airline firms to share experience on safety

Ong: ‘I hope it can be realised because we all need to understand and learn from one another.’

SUBANG JAYA: Firefly Sdn Bhd, the biggest turboprop operator in the Asia-Pacific, has urged all airline firms to have an open mind on sharing their experiences and knowledge, particularly on safety issues, for the benefit of all.

Chief executive officer Ignatius Ong said that the company, which has been appointed the chair for safety in the Association of Asia-Pacific Airlines (AAPA) early this year, said although the idea seemed easy to utter, many airlines were still hesitant to share their real-life experiences with others.
