OCK incorporates subsidiary with Myanmar Integrated Networks

PETALING JAYA: OCK Group Bhd, one of the country’s leading telecommunications network services providers, has incorporated a subsidiary with Myanmar Integrated Networks (MIN) named MIN-OCK Infrastructure Pte Ltd.

Myanmar is recognised as one of the fast emerging markets for telecommunication networks, and MIN-OCK intends to further explore opportunities in the provision of tower facilities, utilities, and communicate network for mobile and broadband operators, the company said in a statement.

“We will be actively exploring the market in Myanmar for future contracts.

“At this point of time Myanmar is one of the fastest growing telecommunication network markets and we are keen to participate in the opportunities that arise in the country,” group managing director Sam Ooi said.

To grow the group’s business, Ooi pointed out that OCK has strengthened its management team with a new chief executive officer, Yap Wai Khee, who is equipped with 16 years of experience in the telecommunication industry.

Yap has held senior management roles in several telecommunications outfits in the past and has ample experience in managing regional projects.

“We believe that now is the right time to further strengthen our management team in sync with the growth of the group. Having Yap in the team adds strength to OCK’s confidence and capabilities.

“We are very optimistic about the future of the group, and will continue to strategise and execute our expansions plans in order to continue with our business growth momentum,” Ooi said.
