CHICAGO: The future of the Internet called from the refrigerator with some bad news. 

Twitter, PayPal, Spotify and other major sites were knocked offline on Oct 21 after attackers used hacked webcams and other networked devices to overwhelm an important hub. It's a clear warning for Cisco Systems, Alphabet and other investors moving headlong into the so-called Internet of Things about security risks.
