Online reservation platform Hotels.com has become the latest travel partner for ride-share program Uber.
Travellers who have downloaded the Hotels.com mobile app and booked a room through the online reservation site will now be able to hail an Uber ride to their hotel with a single click.
The new feature is available for Android users in 30 languages.
Users will see the Uber option appear on their mobile app on the first day of their hotel stay.
When the feature is activated, the user's current location and the hotel address are automatically saved in the Uber app, for a seamless experience.
It's the latest hotel partnership for the ride-sharing service – a trend that threatens to make the sight of taxis pulling up to hotel driveways obsolete.
Last year, InterContinental Hotels Group, which includes brands such as the Holiday Inn, Crowne Plaza, Intercontinental and Kimpton – launched an Uber feature allowing guests to book a ride directly through the hotel's mobile app and earn hotel loyalty rewards.
Likewise, Hilton Worldwide allows their loyalty members to order an Uber to their hotel straight from their mobile app. — AFP Relaxnews
