JOHOR BARU: Super League champions Johor Darul Ta’zim (JDT) will soon have a training base in Europe.

In a statement on the Southern Tigers’ Facebook page, JDT announced their intention to buy a piece of land in either Barcelona or Valencia.

“A delegation has travelled to Spain to view and inspect the prospective pieces of land.

“Once the land is purchased, it will be developed into JDT’s training camp and a residential facility for the club’s players when they travel to Spain for pre-season,” said the statement.

The facility would also be used to house young JDT players attached to Spanish clubs in the future.

This move by JDT will see them becoming the first Malaysian football club to own a football facility outside the country.
