PETALING JAYA: There was no birthday joy for Goh Liu Ying as she and Chan Peng Soon were sent packing in the first round of the Indonesia Open badminton championships.

Liu Ying, who turned 27 on Monday, and Peng Soon were beaten 18-21, 17-21 in 46 minutes by world No. 1 Zhang Nan-Zhao Yunlei of China in Jakarta on Tuesday.
