I RECENTLY saw a report titled “How to revive a 500-year-old dying language” on the BBC News website.

It was about a Singaporean university student, Kevin Martens Wong, who was taking laudable efforts to revitalise Kristang creole, the language of the Portuguese Eurasians in Malacca.
