More for MACC to consider

WHEN I first started working in the private sector many years ago, I felt sorry for civil servants. Back then, their salary was meagre. As time went by, their compensation packages were boosted. After many adjustments, bonuses and perks, their salary package is just as good, if not better, than some in the private sector now. Even the minimum wage for them is RM1,200 compared to RM1,000 for the private sector.

Unfortunately, even with good remuneration packages, we are seeing many cases of civil servants being charged with corruption of late.
