Providing rest facilities for drivers would help

I REFER to the report “Bid to employ more young express bus drivers” (The Star, Jan 6) in which Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department Datuk Seri Nancy Shukri was said to have revealed that a lab would be set up next month to look into the many issues and challenges facing the bus industry.

In November 2015, the Land Public Transport Commission (SPAD) had organised a similar lab for the taxi industry which I attended. I had the privilege to move among the participating groups, listen to their findings and also share my views. I saw that each group was earnestly doing their best to find workable solutions, and I was impressed.
