IT IS tragic to read about the rampant road accidents that have been occurring lately, and while I use the word “lately” here, these heart-wrenching accidents have been happening much too frequently this year.

Last Sunday, five children became orphans when the car they were in collided with a trailer, killing both their parents in Pendang, Kedah. Prior to that, a trip for a family ended sadly when the driver lost control of the MPV and hit the divider, causing it to ram into a pillar on the East Coast Expressway in Chukai, Terengganu (pic). Of the six deceased, three were children.
