Think of kids when going through a divorce


I REFER to the report “Mum throws newborn from 18th floor” (The Star, Feb 29). The report mentioned that the woman was in the process of divorcing her husband.

This seems to assume that someone who is under marital distress would behave irrationally and might harm themselves as well as their family. Going through a divorce can be so stressful it can result in depression for those involved and for their children too. If you have ever been really depressed, you would know how hard it can be to feel good about anyone, even your children.
