Chinese drunk driver ‘fails his English test’ after trying to convince police he is foreigner

BEIJING: A Chinese man allegedly tried to convince police he was a foreigner by speaking in “faltering” English when questioned on suspicion of drink driving after a road accident, mainland media reports.

The driver, 33, began speaking poor English to police at the scene of the crash involving a car that had run into the back of a parked sports utility vehicle at 3am on October 22 in Chongqing, Police Joy Media, the national police social media WeChat news website reported on Saturday.
