Indonesia's most wanted terrorist Santoso was with wife when he was shot dead


Indonesian police officers carrying the bodies of two members of the East Indonesia Mujahideen who were killed in a firefight with the authorities, as they arrived at a police hospital in Palu in Central Sulawesi on Tuesday. One of the two men killed has been identified as the group's leader, Santoso.

JAKARTA: Indonesia's most wanted terrorist, Santoso, 39, was with four other militants, including two women, one of whom was his wife, when he was killed in a firefight with troops on Monday.

The leader of the East Indonesia Mujahideen, or Mujahideen Indonesia Timur (MIT) as it is known locally, was shot dead alongside one other militant in Tambarana village in Poso, in Central Sulawesi.
