Decomposed body found in abandoned toilet in Besut

JERTIH: The decomposed body of a man has been found in an abandoned toilet near Bukit Keluang beach here.

Acting Besut OCPD Deputy Supt DSP Md Sani Md Saleh said police received a call from a member of the public who discovered the body at 4.21pm on Sundaty (March 2).

"The body was found in an abandoned and isolated toilet.

"The man is believed to have been dead for more than seven days based on the state of decomposition.

"Preliminary investigations found no signs of foul play at the scene. The case has been classified as a sudden death report,” he said in a statement on Monday (March 3).

DSP Md Sani added that people interviewed nearby said they often saw the deceased, a person with mental disabilities, in the area but he had not been seen for over a week.

"A man who says he is the victim’s older brother said his sibling had not returned home for some time, but no police report was lodged,” he added. – Bernama
