MIRI: (Feb 21) Sarawak deputy state assembly speaker Datuk Gerawat Gala has given official notice to an oil-palm plantation giant to immediately stop theclearing the forests at the fringes of Mulu National Park.

Gala, in his capacity as Mulu state assemblyman, issued the order following widespread human-blockades set up by ethnic minority natives from the Penan and Berawan communities against the forest-clearing.
