PETALING JAYA: A photo showing Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia motorsports bureau chairman Zainal Abidin holding a golf club at the Youth and Sports minister’s office has gone viral.

He came under fire for his incorrect positioning when holding the golf club.

Many were angry and left wondering why he was seen ‘playing golf’ in the office.

One of the viral posts by Ab Jalil Backer gained 368 reactions, 91 comments and 20 shares as at 10.57pm today (Jan 17).

Syed Ezam Wan Ali comments “sporting at the Youth and Sports Ministry counter” while Faizal Bahri says, “does he think the office is like the Google office or the Apple office?”

Another comment read, “the problem is he is not holding it right and what posture is that?”

It is not clear where the original source of the picture posting came from or what the motive was.

However, Zainal Abidin himself has since posted his personal view on the picture.

He writes, “Thank you to everyone who reprimanded me because of the photo of me holding a golf club at the minister's office yesterday (Jan 16).

“I assume all the reprimanding is because you all still care and show love to me with my shortcomings.

“This is the world, humans will only pay attention to us when one is in a position and rank but they will all disappear when we are tested by Allah swt.”

Three days ago, the communications team of Youth and Sports Minister Syed Saddiq Syed Abdul Rahman was advised by Petroliam Nasional Bhd (Petronas) not to use any mobile phones near petrol pumps.

This was also in response to a picture of the minister in a petrol station tweeted by the minister himself that went viral.

The irony was that the picture had the warning signs when the minister was filling up petrol, which included the "no handphone" sign.
