MELAKA (Bernama): The level of methanol content of between 30 and 50 times higher than the permissible amount has been identified as the cause of the death of 33 foreigners of toxic alcohol poisoning cases last week, said Deputy Health Minister Dr Lee Boon Chye.
He noted that the high methanol content was believed to be due to an error while manufacturing the beer, which was supposed to generate a kind of alcohol compound called ethanol.
