17 families live in fear of landslides

SEVENTEEN families in Lukut, Negri Sembilan are living in fear after the roofs and walls of their houses started to crack due to soil erosion, reported Makkal Osai.

M.Thanabakkiam, 60, whose house is in Taman Jimah Jaya Site C, claimed that the houses were built on low ground that had been filled up. Another resident, M. Nagappan, 80, claimed that the ground behind the residential area started to erode over the years, culminating in a large landslide in 2008.
