GEORGE TOWN: Penang will be one of the few locations for a new movie about Bruce Lee's formative years, says Shannon Lee.

The martial art legend's daughter said filming of the biographical film based on Bruce's teenage years would be done between September and November this year.

"We will be trying to replicate the 1950s era in Hong Kong. A portion of the film will be filmed in Penang before we head to Pinewood Iskandar Malaysia studios in Johor Baru and then to Foshan, China to film the rest of the movie," she said at a press conference held by Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng in Komtar on Wednesday.

Lim said the heritage buildings would be used as the backdrop of the filming.

The two-hour long film titled Little Dragon will be directed by award-winning director Shekhar Kapur and is slated for release at the end of next year.
