Man held for molesting hotel worker


JOHOR BARU: Police detained a man to faci­litate investigations into a molest case invol­ving a hotel employee at a budget hotel toilet in Kluang Baru.

The 23-year-old suspect was nabbed at about 2.10pm on Saturday in Taman Kluang Barat after the victim lodged a report, said Kluang police chief ACP Mohamad Laham.

He said the suspect, who tested positive for drugs and has a previous record for a sex-related crime, was remanded for four days.

In the report, the 22-year-old victim told police a man who was armed with a cleaver forced her into a toilet before molesting her.

Mohamad said the victim was injured in the struggle.

Police seized a pair of jeans, jacket, motorcycle and crash helmet. — Bernama
