Ipoh hospital instructed to investigate allegations of worm in food

IPOH: Raja Permaisuri Bainun Hospital authorities have been instructed to investigate allegations that a worm was found in a patient's food, says state Health Committee chairman Datuk Dr Mah Hang Soon.

Dr Mah said the instruction was made following a viral Facebook post of photos claiming to be of a worm found in food given to a patient warded at the hospital.

He urged the complainant to come forward to provide more details of the incident.

"If the person comes forward, we will be able to take immediate measures and action against the parties involved. Right now we don't know who the patient is, who posted the photos and statement on Facebook or whether the allegations are genuine," said Dr Mah on Wednesday.

He also said that the complainant could call his personal assistant Wong at 017-533 5389 or the hospital about the matter.
