GEORGE TOWN: When a person dies and no next of kin comes forward to claim the body in Penang, P. Murugiah and his group of about 20 friends step in to give the deceased a dignified send-off.

For two decades, they have been cleaning and clothing the bodies before administering funeral rites and burying or cremating them.
