KUALA LUMPUR: GoCare Crowdfunding For Charity, an MCA initiative, is aiming to raise RM30,000 in four months to help a non-profit organisation provide transport services for wheelchair-bound people.

The crowd-funding event, titled "A Journey with Love,” which runs from April 28 to July 31, is for  Double Blessing Bhd’s "Little Fook" (prosperity) project.

It was launched by Deputy Finance Minister Datuk Lee Chee Leong at Wisma MCA in Jalan Ampang here on Thursday.

The Little Fook project provides transport services for wheelchair-bound persons for their daily activities, by using specially-equipped vans with wheelchair lifts.

The fund-raising effort also got an immediate shot in the arm, with two companies donating a total of RM7,000. Lee also donated another RM5,000.

In his speech, Lee praised the project, saying he hoped more companies would be involved in corporate social responsibility initiatives.
