Water supply in KL fully restored


PETALING JAYA: Water supply to all areas of Kuala Lumpur affected by the burst pipe in Sungai Buloh has been fully restored.  

Syarikat Bekalan Air Selangor Sdn Bhd (Syabas) said as of 7am Sunday, water supply to 98% of areas in Petaling Jaya were also restored.  

The remaining areas that are still facing supply interruptions are Taman Gembira, Salak Selatan, Desa Petaling and Jalan Kuchai Lama.  

These areas are located on higher ground and are at the end of the water distribution system, said Syabas in a statement  

Syabas corporate communications head Amin Lin Abdullah said every effort is being undertaken to expedite the restoration of water supply in these areas.  

“Relief water supply will still be delivered via water tankers to the affected areas until water supply is fully restored,” he added.  

Residents who want to request for relief water supply can SMS “Tanker Name & Address” to 15300.

Water supply to more than 280 areas in Kuala Lumpur, Petaling Jaya, Klang and Shah Alam was cut off to facilitate maintenance work after a waterpipe along Jalan Sierramas Barat in Sungai Buloh burst on Thursday afternoon.
