KUALA LUMPUR: Those who lodge frivolous complaints with the Election Commission (EC) against newly-registered voters should be penalised, said Bersih 2.0 chairman Maria Chin Abdullah.

Maria said she was alerted over one case where an initiator had objected to new voters, claiming that they were not residents in the constituency, but failed to turn up at the public hearing by the EC.
