KUALA LUMPUR: A student here has claimed she is the victim of a concert ticket scam.

The 21-year-old who wanted to be known only as Koh said a syndicate duped her of RM180 on March 31.

“I wanted to go for a mini-concert by K-pop group Rookie at Mutiara Damansara on April 23, so I posted a comment on the official Facebook page for the event about purchasing a ticket,” she told reporters at the MCA Public Services and Complaints Department Tuesday.

“The same day, I received a private message on Facebook from a girl named Wong Mei Kei, claiming she was with TicketCharge and had tickets for sale.”

Koh said she booked one ticket for RM180 and banked in the amount into an account in the name of Tan You Shen.

“I received messages from Tan that the ticket could only be collected if I bought two more tickets.

“He kept insisting that I bank in another RM360 for the two tickets,” she said, and it was then that she realised something was amiss.

She said the man then told her that another buyer named Amy would reimburse her for the extra tickets.

“When I refused, both Tan and Amy kept harassing me.

“I lodged a police report over the incident two days later,” she said.
