KUALA LUMPUR: Datuk Seri Rohani Abdul Karim has come to the defence of Tasek Gelugor MP Datuk Shabudin Yahaya, saying that he was merely drawing on his own experience as a former Syariah court judge when addressing the issue of child marriages.
The Women, Family and Community Development Minister said it was "unfortunate" that Shabudin's remarks were taken out of context, as he was only relaying his own experience of encountering such cases as a former judge in the Syariah court.
