New village chiefs off to Kunming


KUALA LUMPUR: Twenty new village heads will be visiting Kunming, the capital of Yunnan province, early April on a study tour fully sponsored by the Chinese government.

Touted as one of China’s most liveable cities by Lonely Planet and a popular tourist destination, Kun­ming is a great place for the chiefs to learn how to modernise their villages, said Datuk Seri Dr Wee Ka Siong, the Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department in charge of new villages.
