KAJANG: A 39-year-old man was found dead with a gunshot wound to the head in a house in Bandar Tun Hussein Onn, Cheras here early Friday.

Police suspect that he was murdered at the three-storey house in Jalan Suakasih 2/2.

The man, who was from Jalan Ipoh and whose name is withheld by police, apparently came to the house just after midnight to meet a friend of a businessman.

The 54-year-old businessman claimed that he rushed upstairs when he heard a gunshot on the third floor at about 3am.

He said he found the man sprawled on the floor with a gunshot wound on his forehead and a revolver in his right hand.

The businessman then lodged a report at the nearest police station.

Kajang OCPD Asst Comm Othman Nanyan said initial investigations found that there could be foul play in the man’s death.

“His body was found on the third floor, which the businessman had used as a recreational area.

“We have also confiscated the weapon," he said.

Thirteen people, ages between 59 and 30, including the businessman, his wife and maid, have been detained to assist in the investigations.

Police also took samples from 11 individuals who were at the scene to test for gunshot residue.

“We are still investigating possible motives for the killing,” ACP Othman said.

A check at the scene showed a Mercedes-Benz parked across the house with VIP and VVIP stickers on the windshield.

A resident in the area, who did not want to be named, claimed that the owner of the three-storey house is a Datuk Seri.
