Shouting match erupts in Johor state assembly over land scam

ISKANDAR PUTERI: A shouting match erupted at the state assembly sitting here between Barisan Nasional (BN) and Opposition lawmakers after Speaker Tan Sri Mohamad Aziz rejected a motion to set up a committee to monitor ongoing investigations into the massive land corruption scandal that has rocked Johor.

Mohamad said the motion was rejected on the basis that the case was still under investigation by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) and the state government did not want to interfere with it.
