KOTA KINABALU: Not only are they poor, illiterate and jobless, but members of this unfortunate family in Penampang are also sickly or disabled.

For decades, they lived in a hut on the fringes of a jungle. For food, they hunted wild animals and sourced local herbs and vegetables.
