Two men plunge to their death on same day

JOHOR BARU: Two men fell to their death in separate incidents here on the same day.

In one case, the body of a 30-year-old was found on the ground floor of a hotel at about 10.50am on Tuesday.

He was believed to have fallen from the 26th floor.

“He died from severe head injuries.

“The body was sent to Sultanah Aminah Hospital for a post-mortem and has been claimed by his siblings,” said Johor Baru South OCPD Asst Comm Sulaiman Salleh du­ring a press conference yesterday.

The case has been classified as sudden death.

In the other case, a 34-year-old man was found dead on the fourth floor of the Batu Pahat Municipal Council tower at about 7.45am.

A security guard discovered the body and immediately called the police.

Batu Pahat OCPD Asst Comm Abdul Wahib Musa said the man had managed to get to the highest floor of the 14-storey building and was believed to have fallen from a window there.

On the fourth floor was an old parking lot which had been closed down and locked up, he said.

The victim was self-employed and from Kampung Petani here.

“His father lodged a police report at about 11pm on Monday, saying that his son left their shop on a motorcycle and had not returned,” said ACP Abdul Wahib.

According to the father, the man suffered from mental illness and was being treated at Sultanah Nora Ismail Hospital, he added.

Police had classified the case as sudden death.
