Fishermen want navy to safeguard Sabah waters


KOTA KINABALU: Fishermen in the east coast are urging the Government to hand over duties of safeguarding Sabah waters to the navy in view of the continuous kidnappings and cross-border crime in the area.  

Sandakan Fishermen Association chairman Phua Peh Chee said with the never-ending incidents happening in the east coast, it seemed that the Eastern Sabah Security Command (Esscom) was not able to keep the criminals away.
