PETALING JAYA: Two Malaysian women have been chosen to represent Puma as their official brand ambassadors for South-East Asia.

Actress Siti Saleha and Miss Universe Malaysia 2015 Vanessa Tevi Kumares were recently announced as regional representatives of Puma in conjunction with the launch of the sportswear company’s “Do You” campaign.

According to Puma, the campaign aims to inspire women to stay true to themselves, make their own rules, and never take ‘no’ for an answer.

“It creates a conversation that encourages women to be confident, motivated, and never willing to compromise on anything from their personal style to their workouts to their life,” said the company on its website.

In a posting on Facebook last week, Vanessa shared her gratitude and excitement at being selected brand ambassador and talked about what it meant to her to be part of the campaign.

“Everyday I’m still learning something new about myself. One thing that has never changed though, is the belief that if you want something so bad, you should just go for it!” she said.

Vanessa also called on women to identify their values, believe in their goals and to “never let anything or anyone deter you from scoring what you believe you can achieve”.

“We want you to hold your head up and be proud of being yourself, not anyone else,” she said.

Meanwhile, Siti posted a message for women on Instagram in support of the campaign.

“I know, being confident can be intimidating, let it be your motivation to strive for a better tomorrow,” she said.

Both women join Puma’s growing list of influential female ambassadors which include celebrities like Cara Delevigne and Rihanna.

According to the company, the Puma ambassador is one who is dauntless in the face of adversities and unapologetic for being who they are.

The other four South-East Asian ambassadors are Kelly Tandiono and Rani Ramadhany from Indonesia, and Dawn Yeoh and Sheila Sim from Singapore.

Puma’s regional campaign kicks off in October.
