KOTA BARU: State civil servants in Kelantan that number some 3,000 are barred from playing Pokemon GO at all government premises with immediate effect.
Deputy Menteri Besar Datuk Mohd Amar Abdullah said the decision was made based on safety reasons rather than religion.
“Disciplinary action will be taken against civil servants caught playing the game while at work.
“A circular on this new ruling is expected to be issued soon, and those in the habit of playing the game should take heed,” he told reporters after attending the fortnightly executive councillor meeting here yesterday.
Mohd Amar said the office of the state secretary will come out with the disciplinary action to be meted against errant civil servants.
“This is not a fatwa, we are starting with civil servants first. The new ruling does not include the private sector or those playing the game at public places,” he added.
