Merdeka airfares in Sabah and Sarawak


KOTA KINABALU: Air travel within Sabah and Sarawak over the next few months will be more affordable, with local carrier MASwing offering special fares in conjunction with Merdeka Day celebrations.

The airline said the special one-way fares, from as low as RM135, would be available from now until Aug 31 for travel between July 16 and Sept 4.

Passengers travelling from Kota Kinabalu can enjoy one-way, all-in fares to Labuan from RM135, to Sibu from RM194 and to Lahad Datu and Sandakan from RM147.

The airline said in a statement that the all-inclusive offer will be at RM153 to Tawau, RM171 to Mulu and RM188 to Bintulu.

Flights from Kota Kinabalu to Miri and Kuching are priced from RM159 and RM229 respectively.

Those travelling from Miri only need to fork out fares from RM115 to Mulu, RM118 to Limbang and Bintulu, and RM124 and RM147 to Labuan and Sibu respectively.

Passengers from Kuching to Bintulu and Miri can fly at RM188, Sibu at RM141, Mulu at RM194 and Kota Kinabalu at RM229.

Those boarding from Sandakan to Tawau can do so from as low as RM118 and from Bintulu to Sibu from RM112.

The fares are inclusive of airport taxes, the Goods and Services Tax and Carrier Imposed Fee, and are subject to MASwings’ terms and conditions.
