Kesas users to get 10% toll discount on Hari Raya

PETALING JAYA: Konsortium Expressway Shah Alam Selangor (Kesas) is offering a 10% toll discount on the first day of Hari Raya Aidilfitri.

The discount will start at 12.01am and end at 11.59pm on July 6, 2016, and will be enjoyed by motorists who make electronic transactions at the toll.

With the 10% discount, the toll rate will be RM1.80, down 20 sen from RM2.00.

"This discount is a token of our appreciation to Kesas motorists," said its chief executive officer Imran Gulcharan Abdullah in a statement on Tuesday.

"Motorists are also encouraged to make electronic toll payment to benefit from the discount as well as to help smoothen traffic flow," he said.

Toll collection is fully electronic on the Kesas Highway.

Imran said that giving discounts during festive periods is seen as a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) commitment to Kesas users.

An estimated 420,000 motorists will enjoy toll discounts during Hari Raya Aidilfitri festivities this year, he said at a breaking of fast event with 60 orphans from the Siti Khadijah Welfare Group Selangor.

The orphans were taken on a shopping trip by Kesas management to prepare for Hari Raya celebrations, and were presented with a RM10,000 duit raya as part of Kesas' CSR program.
