Couple who took nude pictures under rape probe

KUALA LUMPUR: A couple who allegedly molested and took nude photos of two female employees are now under investigation for suspected rape.

Sentul OCPD Asst Comm R. Munusamy said the suspects, aged 28 and 34, were rearrested early yesterday after their earlier remand order expired.

“We are now investigating the case for rape and will apply for a new remand order to assist in the investigations,” he said here yesterday.

The couple surrendered at the Sentul police headquarters on Tuesday after a report was lodged by two former employees who claimed that they were beaten up, sexually assaulted and had their nude photos taken.

At that time, the case was investigated as voluntarily causing hurt.

The couple was said to have rented premises to live and ran their online business using a fake identity.

When police raided the place, they found it had been cleared out.

Shortly before giving up, the male suspect uploaded a video clip onto his Facebook page to claim his innocence. He said that his biggest mistake was to take pity on women who came from Ipoh and Penang in search of a living, giving them jobs and accommodation.

The suspect went on to deny all allegations made against him.

Both victims – who only wanted to be known as Tan, 24, and Lee, 28 – were employed as web marketing administrators in April, only to find that the company was involved in online gambling activities.

They sought help from MCA Public Services and Complaints Department chief Datuk Seri Michael Chong after they were blackmailed by the suspects to pay back some RM18,000.
