SEPANG: A graphic designer was fined RM20,000 at the Sessions Court here for voluntarily uploading pornographic drawings onto the Internet for commercial purposes.
Yunus Hasyim Yaakub, 29, who was unrepresented, pleaded guilty to the offence after the charge was read out to him.
He was charged for distributing the material to a buyer on Aug 13 last year.
Sessions Court judge Harith Sham Mohamed Yasin handed out the sentence under Section 233(2)(a) of the Communications and Multimedia Act 1998.
MCMC prosecuting officer Mohd Sophian Zakaria said it was a serious offence as it would have a severe effect on children and teenagers.
Yunus paid the fine.
