Couple fined RM40,000 for abuse that led to child's death

KUALA LUMPUR: A mother of six and her husband has been fined a total of RM40,000 by the Ampang Sessions Court here for neglecting and abusing her six-year-old son and causing his death.

Sessions Court judge Suraiya Mustafa Kamal handed down the sentence on Nor Zuliana Tahir, 34, and another fine of RM15,000 for her husband Zuhairi Kassim, 40, for abusing his stepson, Muhammad Akhil Mustaqim.
