Judge: They could help protect divorcees’ alimony rights

KUALA LUMPUR: Officers from the Syariah Court’s Family Support Division need to be recognised as syarie lawyers to help ensure a divorcee’s right to alimony is protected, said Selangor Syariah Judiciary Department chief judge Mohd Na’im Mokhtar.

He said the division – Bahagian Sokongan Keluarga or BSK – had proven to be effective in the states where the officers had syarie certification.
