Man found dead in luxury yacht at Sutera Harbour

KOTA KINABALU: A man was found dead by a colleague in a luxury yacht anchored at the Sutera Harbour marina jetty at about 8.30am Saturday.

Kota Kinabalu police chief ACP M. Chandra said the deceased Justinus Michael, 54, was found dead in the engine room of the luxury yacht.

"Earlier, the deceased's friend found him lying on the side with the right hand upright and the feet on the yacht's deck.

"A medical officer from the Queen Elizabeth Hospital later pronounced that Justinus had died," he said in a statement Saturday.

Chandra said Justinus was employed as second engineer for more than a month by the company operating the luxury yacht.

"There were no elements of crime or any injuries on him. The engine room was dusted and we found no signs of a break-in or weapons."

The cause of death is still under investigation. The body was sent to Queen Elizabeth Hospital for autopsy. -  Bernama
